What merchants ask.
Is it legal? What exactly is A1155?
A1155 requires the receipt to be signed by a certified provider (ΥΠΑΗΕΣ) before the card is charged. Billit does exactly that: it signs through a certified provider (ΥΠΑΗΕΣ) and only then sends the amount to the terminal.
How is this different from other Shopify POS solutions?
Most solutions are separate POS systems, with their own monthly subscription per store, that sync orders and stock with Shopify. We use Shopify POS itself: orders and stock are already in Shopify, with nothing to sync, and cashiers work in Shopify’s own app. All you need is Shopify POS and Billit.
What does it cost?
The POS add-on is free during the beta, and stays free forever for everyone joining now. It works with Shopify POS Lite, which is included in your Shopify plan, so you don’t need a POS Pro subscription. You need a Billit PRO subscription, which includes the Shopify integration. Card sales in a physical shop also require a certified provider (ΥΠΑΗΕΣ): its cost is a prepaid bundle of units and changes often, so ask us for a quote.
What does BETA mean?
That we are watching even more closely, not that the solution is unfinished. Billit POS has been tested extensively, is stable and certified by Mellon. During the BETA we closely monitor transactions and fix any small issue straight away. There is no reason to worry. And everyone joining now keeps the POS add-on free forever.
Which terminals are supported?

Can I have several tills or several terminals?
Yes. Each Shopify POS device remembers its terminal, so 5 devices with 5 terminals work side by side. One device can also use several terminals: the cashier picks the terminal with one tap before charging.
Do I need a developer?
No. We set everything up with you on a free Zoom call: the Shopify connection, the terminal, the payment method and your cashiers’ permissions.
What if a card is declined?
The cashier sees the decline straight away and can try again or cancel the sale with one tap. No unpaid order is left behind.
How long does setup take?
Setup takes one Zoom call. Activating the certified provider (ΥΠΑΗΕΣ) takes 3-5 business days, so your first real card sale usually happens within a week.
